With the sun very much still shining, we’re delighted to be able to bring you a few more details about our neighbourhood’s next big social event, the STAR End of Summer Party on Saturday September 13th, from 12 noon to 5pm, in the garden of the Scout Hut on Rugby Road.

12:00 – Lets Get The Party Started!
12:15 – 12:30 – Fun and melodious music with Orpheus on violin
12:40 – 1:10 – James & Mel on guitar and vocals
1:00 – Bake Off Entry deadline – all cakes to the Judging Table by now please!
1:15 – 1:30 – “RNM”, a local school rock band playing Green Day and others
1:45 – Bake Off Judging & Prize Giving, with “celebrity judge” Rozie from Rozie’s in Devonshire Road
2:00 – 3:00 – “Windfall”, accoustic covers of classic hits old and new
3:30 – 4:00 – “Barry Music”, solo jazz saxophonist
4:00 – The STAR Raffle Draw
Entertainment & Music
A veritable parade of local musical talent will be performing all afternoon, playing everything from classical to jazz, rock, pop and show tunes.
Come along with your friends and family, meet new neighbours and catch up with old friends over a drink in the sunshine as we’ll have plenty of seating for you to chill out on whilst soaking up the music and atmosphere.
The STAR Raffle
The STAR End of Summer Party on Saturday September 13th will also be hosting the official drawing of the 2025 STAR Raffle!
We’ve got almost 40 amazing prizes lined up for you to win – so with only 300 households in the STAR area eligible to buy tickets, your odds of walking away with a great prize are way better than for the National Lottery!
And we have got some truly amazing prizes lined up for you to try and win this year, all kindly donated by local businesses including The Hogarth Club, Marmalade Jewellery, Sams Riverside, Damsel, Oddonos, The Roebuck, Mayfive Salon, The Chiswick Fishmonger, Snappy Snaps, Amorino Gelato, Geige, Luminis, Wheelers Garden Centre, Wyndhams, Headliners Comedy Club, The George IV, Macken Brothers, The Hound & many more.

We are running the raffle and the draw using the GalaBid online platform, and so you will need to provide an email address and/or mobile number when buying your tickets to allow us to notify you if you are a winner.
We will be announcing the winners at the End of Summer Party, but even if you are not there when the draw takes place you will be notified by an email from the GalaBid system.

Are you this year’s “STAR Baker” ?
A showpiece of the STAR Party will be our first ever STAR Baker Competition – your chance to show off your cake-making skills to the neighbourhood.
Simply bring along your favourite bake – whether it’s a classy Victoria Sponge or a tray of fancy muffins – to show off to the neighbourhood and enter the competition. We’ve secured the services of local top-notch cake maker Rozie, the owner and head Baker of Rozie’s in Devonshire Road to judge the entries during the Summer Party.
After the judging is completed we’ll then be selling slices of all of your creations to our hungry party goers, so everyone will have a chance to sample your handiwork during the afternoon too.
There is also a “Junior STAR Baker” category for any of the younger kitchen maestros in our area – a great chance to get your kids into the kitchen and involved in the fun!
- Cakes to be brought to the Scout Hut by 1pm and placed on the STAR Baker Judging Table.
- There will be separate sections for Adults & Childrens entries
- Judging will take place at 1:45pm in the Scout Hut

Kids Activities
We’ve got plenty of activities to keep your kids fully occupied throughout the afternoon, with games, crafts and a host of other events including the STAR Kids Beauty Parlour, with plenty of nail goodies provided by Chiswick Nail Salon Meraki.
We’re also encouraging kids to come along to the party in their favourite Fancy Dress costume – there’s no “best outfit” competition, it’s just a bit of fun and an excuse for you to get more use out of the contents of your kids’ dressing up box!
Food & Drink
We’ll be firing up the STAR BBQ and selling Chiswick’s own “Macken Brothers” Burgers & Sausages on the day (yes, there will be fried onions as well!), and those of you who may remember previous events will also be pleased to hear that the legendary STAR Pimms Bar will be returning as well.
We also have a Popcorn stall, where you can choose from sweet, salty or even a mix of both!
After the Bake-Off Competition has been judged you’ll also have the opportunity to indulge in a slice of the winning cakes – or any of the runners-up that you like the look of as instead.
With desserts largely covered by the STAR Baker competition and a full BBQ on offer too, this does mean we’re asking those bringing something for the “pot luck” table to aim for sweet and savoury snacks and soft and/or alcoholic drinks. As Pimms will be the only drink we will have on sale on the day, parents may wish to bring drinks along for their own kids too!
STAR Tombola
Every fete needs a Tombola, and the STAR End of Summer Party will be no exception – we’ve loads of prizes for kids and adults alike to be won on the day.
Supporting Local Charity
Part of the proceeds from our End of Summer Party will be donated to support W4 Youth, a local registered charity who are working to create a new community centre in Southfield Recreation Ground, to benefit young people all across W4.
How You Can Get Involved
The STAR “Party Team” have been working behind the scenes over the last couple of months to pull the End of Summer Party together, however we will still need some extra pairs of hands on the day to help out for an hour or so in setting up, taking down or running some of our stalls at the event.
We’ve drawn up a rota of what needs to be done, so if you are able to contribute please sign up for a slot on our online form and get involved. We’re also still looking for someone with a fancy(-ish) camera who can be our official photographer on the day, so if this might be you please get in touch.
Useful To Know
- The End of Summer Party runs from Midday to 5pm at the Scout Hut on Rugby Road.
- There is no entry fee – you can pop in whenever you like, and stay for as long as you like.
- On the day we’ll be using our own (paper – not crypto!) currency, STAR Cash at the Party.
- Simply buy a bundle of STAR Cash Vouchers with either cash or contactless payment when you arrive, and use the vouchers at all of our stalls and catering points.
- Each STAR Cash Voucher is worth £1, and we’ll even throw in one free voucher for every 10 STAR Cash Vouchers you buy!
- The money raised at the Party will be used to cover the annual running expenses of the STAR Association – we no longer ask residents for annual membership fees.
