Joining the Community adds you to the “STAR Announcements” Group, which is only used for broadcasting STAR news and announcements. Residents can reply to announcements, but are not able to start new topics in this Group.
For those of you who would like to join in with the conversation in our area we have also set up two other types of WhatsApp Group within the STAR Community for you to join.
- Road-specific Groups for residents of each of our 10 roads to use to chat about what’s going on in your own road.
- Interest-specific Groups, for talking about shared hobbies, activities and community issues across the entire STAR neighbourhood.
Please feel free to add yourself to the Group for your Road, and also to any other Interest Groups you wish to be a part of.
After you sign up your phone number will only be visible to people who already have you saved in their phone contacts, as well as anyone who has your number from other (non-STAR) Groups, plus a small handful of STAR Community Admins.
You can always leave the Community, or join or leave any of the individual Groups in the STAR Community at any time through WhatsApp.
The WhatsApp Community is for discussion of issues and topics that are specific to our area – and, of course, please keep it civil, sensible and avoid making personal comments about other residents. Posts which don’t meet these criteria will be actively moderated or deleted.
